Philosophy Behind The Practice

Ayurveda is a medicine system that has historical roots in the Indian subcontinent. It's a practice that gives a closer insight into all the realms of the living being - physical, emotional, and spiritual. Ayurveda suggests that physical entities, including the human body, are composed of three fundamental components namely, Doshas, Dhatus, and Malas.
Dosha is the equivalent of energy and in Ayurveda, there are three forms of it - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. It says that humans are an embodiment of a unique combination of these three doshas which makes us who we are. However, the combination does not remain the same throughout.
External factors such as the environment, diet, climate, age, emotions, etc can change the proportion of the three doshas and put the body out of balance, affecting the health, mood and energy levels. Therefore, a better understanding of our body composition can help us shape a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
