Top Ayurvedic Remedies For Glowing Skin

Banana Sandalwood Mask [1]

Bananas may be great for your tummy, providing you with plenty of nutrition, but they can also nourish your skin. They are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins C & B6, iron, manganese and biotin, and among others. Sandalwood on the other hand, helps balance oil production and reduces skin inflammation. It has proven antibacterial properties that can fight the growth of bacteria linked to acne and pimple outbreaks.

To prepare this face pack, simply mash or puree a ripe banana completely and then mix in as much sandalwood powder as you like. Just make sure that the consistency of the mixture is like a paste so that you can apply it over your face. Leave it on for at least 20 minutes before rinsing off.

Oatmeal & Honey Mask [2,3]

Oatmeal is often used as a topical treatment for inflammatory skin conditions, from mild rashes to psoriasis. In addition to its anti-inflammatory benefits, oatmeal will also help to exfoliate your skin gently. Honey, which has a long history of use in Ayurvedic skin care, is the perfect compliment to oats as studies show that it promotes wound healing and also exhibits antimicrobial effects. It is regarded as one of the best ayurvedic face packs for glowing skin.

Cook a small cup of oats with minimal water so that it becomes thick and almost dry. Once it cools down, add at least 2 tablespoons of honey and mix thoroughly. Keep the face mask on for at least 20-30 minutes to cleanse and hydrate your skin, giving it a healthy glow.

Haldi & Besan [4]

As the most widely used Ayurvedic herb in India, haldi needs no introduction. Its proven skin care benefits include reducing inflammation, fighting bacterial infections and improving skin tone. Besan is one of the best ingredients to add to a face pack because it is an extremely gentle exfoliant and has a soothing effect on your skin. This is perhaps the most inexpensive way to get your natural glow.

Simply mix a tablespoon of besan with half a tablespoon of haldi powder with regular water, rose water or honey to get a thick paste. After applying the past, leave it on your skin for a minimum of 15 minutes.

Amla & Multani Mitti [5]

This is another skin care remedy that ranks among the best ayurvedic face packs for glowing skin. Research shows that amla can promote collagen production, while multani mitti has natural cleansing properties, removing dirt and impurities to restore a youthful natural glow.

Simply mix a tablespoon of Multani mitti powder with 2 tablespoons of amla juice to create your face mask. You can also use amla powder, but you would then need to add water to create a paste. After applying the face mask allow it to dry completely before washing it off.

Neem & Honey [2,3]

To get your natural skin glow, you don’t just need topical treatments. Purifying beverages or tonics can significantly improve skin health and texture, and neem is one of the best ayurvedic tonics for glowing skin. The bitter herb is known for its immense medicinal value as a blood purifier, and it is also recognized as an effective treatment for pimples and other blemishes. Honey offers additional anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial benefits, also making the tonic more palatable.

To prepare the neem and honey concoction, simply steep neem leaves in boiling water and after it cools down, add a tablespoon of honey before drinking.

Keep in mind that while all of these Ayurvedic remedies for glowing skin are extremely effective, they are not a substitute for a healthy diet and lifestyle. To get the best possible results, it’s also important that you avoid processed foods and unhealthy lifestyle habits such as smoking, late nights, and so on.
