DIY Ayurvedic Face Packs for Smooth, Glowing Skin
Rose Pack
Face packs made from rose petals are great for normal to sensitive skin. The anti-bacterial properties in rose petals reduce the occurrences of breakouts and make the skin appear radiant and even-toned.
To make a perfect rose face pack, take 3-4 roses and separate their petals. Wash them with water, crush them in a mortar and pestle (or you can crush them in the palm as well). Add two teaspoon of milk and honey in the crushed petals, apply the pack on the face and keep on for 20 minutes. Later, wash off with lukewarm water. Use this remedy once a week for clear and glowing skin.
Turmeric Face Pack
Turmeric holds a special significance in Indian kitchens and in pre-wedding ritual ‘the Haldi ceremony’. The application of Turmeric or Haldi paste on the skin of the bride and the groom ensures they have radiant and rejuvenated skin on the wedding day. Turmeric has antiseptic and anti-microbial properties that help reduce inflammation and lighten the complexion.
To make this pack, take two teaspoons of gram flour, add a pinch of turmeric and rose water. Mix well to form a smooth paste. Apply it on your face and keep on for 15 minutes. Wash off with water to reveal a young and radiant skin.
Aloe Vera Face Pack
A great summer skin pack, the Aloe Vera face pack helps to reduce tan and restore the skin’s moisture balance. To make this pack, take two teaspoons of aloe vera gel, mix with a teaspoon of rose water and few drops of lemon juice. Apply this pack when you come from outside, keep on for 15 minutes before rinsing with water.
Honey and Lemon Face Pack
This face pack helps to cleanse your skin and make it brighter and smoother. The lemon juice in the pack lightens your skin while honey deeply nourishes and moisturizes it. Take 2 to 3 teaspoon of honey and mix a few drops of fresh lemon juice. Apply on your face, leave it for 10 minutes and wash off.
Sandalwood Face Pack
Sandalwood or Chandan is the folk medicine of India. The natural oils present in sandalwood reduce the redness caused due to skin burn and protects it from breakouts or allergies. As a result, the skin becomes supple, blemish-free and radiant.
To make this pack, take three teaspoons of sandalwood powder and mix with rose water. Apply on your face and keep on for 15 -20 minutes till pack gets dry. Please wet face pack properly and wash it with luke warm water.
